Privacy Policy

Effective August 19, 2026

Tia Morrow operates this website and reader mailing list. This policy explains what information is collected, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

When you join the reader list, we collect your email address and any other information you choose to provide, such as your name or communication preferences.

Our mailing-list provider, Mailchimp, may also record technical information associated with a signup or confirmation, including the date, time, IP address, signup source, and consent status. When emails are delivered, Mailchimp may collect delivery, open, and link-click information if those features are enabled.

The website host may process limited technical information, such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, and security logs, to deliver and protect the site.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • send release announcements, The Ash War news, bonus content, and occasional promotions;
  • deliver material you request and manage your reader-list preferences;
  • operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website and mailing list;
  • understand general email engagement and improve future messages; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

Reader-list marketing is sent with your consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before your withdrawal.

Where applicable, we process limited technical information to pursue legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website, preventing misuse, and understanding service performance. We may also process information when necessary to comply with law.

Service providers and transfers

We use Mailchimp, an Intuit service, to host the reader list, record consent, and send emails. Information submitted through the signup form is transferred to and processed by Mailchimp on our behalf. Mailchimp may process information in the United States and other countries under its applicable contractual and legal safeguards. You can read Mailchimp’s Global Privacy Statement for more information.

We may also disclose information to website-hosting, security, or professional-service providers when reasonably necessary to operate the site, or when required by law. We do not sell or rent reader-list information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and similar technology

This site may use storage that is necessary to deliver, secure, or remember basic site functions. We do not currently use information collected through this site for targeted advertising. If non-essential analytics or advertising technology is added, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before that technology is enabled.

How long we keep information

Subscriber information is retained while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, limited information may be retained on a suppression list so your request continues to be honored. Information may also be retained when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or recordkeeping.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information; receive a portable copy; restrict or object to certain processing; or withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

To make a privacy request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time through the link included in every reader-list email.

Children’s privacy

This website and reader list are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so it can be deleted.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website, mailing-list practices, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of the page will be revised when material changes are published.
